We have made remarkable technical breakthroughs in turbines, generators, utility boilers and auxiliary equipment, since absorbing, assimilating, researching and developing our own technology through various means such as the introduction of advanced technology, collaborated development, and joint operations. The principal businesses of Shanghai Electric Power Generation Group are the manufacture and supply in complete sets of power generation equipment, EPC contracting on a turnkey basis, services relevant to power generation equipment and power plant projects. In addition to core products such as fossil-fuelled and nuclear power generation equipment in classes of 1,000MW, 600MW and 300MW, our main products include various thermal power generation equipment, hydropower generation equipment, wind power generation equipment, desulfurizing equipment, denitrating equipment, AC/DC motors and more. We supply innovative equipment such as nuclear power generation units, 1,000MW and larger class gas turbines and combined cycle units.

For about two decades, the Power Generation Group has acted as EPC contractor for many power plant projects and as supplier of power generation equipment in complete sets or individual equipment. On an EPC basis, we constructed and erected unit No.1 of the 2x325MW Sahand Power Plant in Iran; Unit No.4 of 1x320MW Muzzafargarh Thermal Power Plant in Pakistan; the MALCO 3x25MW Captive Power Plant in India; 2x125MW units in Zhongshan, Guangdong Province, China; and Aixi 1x50MW CFB power plant in Chongqing, China. The economic, safety, flexibility and stability indices of these units met those of other advanced world-class products of the same type, while the quality of the projects are in line with international standards of excellence. Our EPC projects make use of management methods of world-class sophistication. The Power Generation Group was also awarded an ISO9001 Quality Assurance Certificate and a Class I EPC Contract Qualification Certificate for Electrical Power Projects by the Chinese Ministry of Construction.
